meh, I'm not extremely happy about the change to the nano, I was glad to see the mini go bye-bye, now they go and bring it back. The shuffle, however, is pretty cool. I bet I'll have one on order before they are released :p

The two real news, IMO, is the re-design of iTunes and the "iTV". iTunes 7 kicks ass and brings a lot of things people have been wanting. The iTV should be a cool thing to have IF it can stream any kind of video and not just the video from the iTMS.

I've never liked the shuffles, no matter their physical or storage size. The Nanos, on the other hand... I already have the 30g video, now I need something smaller that I can take the gym or slip in my pocket a little easier. I just have to think of a strategic way to convince the wife we need one.

I was never a fan of the Ipod craze, I always thought they were overpriced compared to other mp3 players that were similar in features. However after going the route of the mp3 players, I love the pods. My bro picked up a 30 gig video that stays in my truck now, and for all the other times like the gym and mountain biking I have my girlfriends nano, that for some reason, I haven't seemed to give back either...:greg:

iTunes 7 is a complete pile of crap. I doubt Apple did any QA/QC on this piece of software before release.

yeah, iTunes 7 has been working awesome for me, however I have heard a ton of complaints about it, from the color change to sound output quality. I will say it's got it's share of issues for having this many complaints in only a day of being released. It could have been refined and tested a little more, and I do think it uses quite a bit more memory then an mp3 program should, but I still think it's changes and additions were much needed ones.

Really, I don't think is any different. Aside form the record label view thingie. Works okay for me, what is your gripe?

Are you to both on Macs?
sometimes :D

at work on my press it's windows 2K and it's fine on there too. At home I'm on a mac and it works good too, both in windows on my mac and in OS X ;)

I know a big problem has been if people have any other kind of sound EQ software installed it gets messed up. Sometimes you can just disable it and it fixes the issues and sometimes the people have had to remove the software all together...with that said I did have Volume Logic installed and it didn't give me any problems (Volume Logic no longer worked with itunes 7 but thats just a compatibility issue)

Just wondering if the new release might function differently on mac vs pc

My one and only encounter with itunes made me want to burn my hard drive

...I have over 120 gigs of music and it functions fine.

Holy Tons Of Music Batman. So, wanna let me peruse your collection and 'borrow' some of it? :greg: I'm only up to 15 gigs and it's more than I'll ever listen to in a lifetime.

It isn't really, My brother was a dj for a while he has all kinds of weird one off stuff. His collection tops 200 gigs.

But you are right, if you scan down the songs by play count 3/4 of them have a play count of 0.
