I spoke to the owner and its in good shape but needs a few things like a new gas gauge, repair a little rust in the rocker panels and the door handles are hard top operate. The winch works and the interior is clean.
The "C" bushings need to be replaced. There is a 2"- 3" lift and 33x15.5 Swampers. He is local and I'm going to check it out tonight. Any thoughts, price suggestions, etc?

Looks pretty clean. Maybe you could haggle him down a little bit.
Check the manufacturer of the lift. James Duff's the way to go on those.

Depending on the body, maybe a little high. The lift is pretty worthless unless it is a newer style. Most the older lifts are harsh stiff springs. Is it an auto? if it is truly a 76 it should have disk frt and powersteering. The steering should be the inverted Y style, really should change to the t style if it is lifted.

Check the floors, door posts, back corners of inner fenders for rust. Cut the rockers off and build sliders.

have the body inspected by a professional body man...those things just scream out for the bondo when they hit that age...I helped studboy strip his 73 and it was 3/4" deep in some places and we NEVER hit a spot on the ENTIRE body that didnt have at least a skiff of bondo on it!!!

otherwise..broncos are beautiful vehicles...IMO the most styled 4X4 to date!!

76 and 77 are the best years for Broncos as far as options go. Check for rust in the floor pans, door posts, rocker panels, and the cowl under the hood. Im not to fond of James Duffs stuff, i stick mainly to Wildhorses parts. Price is pretty good, especially for a 76. I have a few parts laying around if you buy it and need any, im always looking for some parts too.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to take a look at it this week. If everything is what it seems and the rust is not to bad, what should I offer him? $5K? Also does any one know of a good early bronco forum?

thanks!

just to add to the James Duff stuff, I've looked into it and they are ok. Wild Horses is alot better from what I've found. That and they're the only ones that carry Cody's radius arms which are killer!

www.Broncofix.com is about the best forum out there for EBs. For some reason though the mailing list is more popular then the forum. I hated having 30 emails in my inbox every morning though from the Mailing list. Also check out www.bcbroncos.com they have some cool EB stuff but a little high on prices, also Broncograveyard.com

'ol TEAM FRED (aka Carl) knows Broncos and competes in one. I wouldn't hesitate buying a used rig from him if you're in the market. :)
