what do you think about creeper joints?

ive purchased a set of creeper joints to replace my rear leaf spring hangers as i do my build up and i want to know what everyone thinks about them. someone told me they make you roll easier? i attached some pictures off of trailgear.com

I'm curious how they'd make you roll easier? I've considered using those before. I don't think they'd be a bad solution at all but don't think they are necessary. That will probably extend the life of your leaf spring, I'd assume. You'd be more likely to need a sway bar with those than if you didn't have them.

From what I have seen of them on the trail, about half of them look like they are helping, and the other half look like they are hurting. Im guessing it all depends on the set-up..some of them I have seen have let the suspension do some freakish stuff im not fond of.

A friend and I tried them out on his Toyota pickup with the Chevy 63" rear springs. There was a huge improvement in flex mostly because of the hard rubber bushings those springs use. They have become quite popular with people running that combo, but I don't think there would be a huge improvement on other rigs...

I was seriously considering them for the front of my Blazer with 56" springs, but went with regular poly bushings instead. The Blazer has to be driven on the road and I didn't want to add one more thing that could contribute to erratic handling. I think they could give a truck a tendency to flop to one side or the other. Look at Cheston's Scout to see what I mean. Both shackles are flopped over to one side. 1st pic on page 16

It probably would matter offroad too much, but that would suck if you flopped to the other side while on the freeway.

Keep in mind, with rear steer, there is a lot more sideways force on the rear springs.

You make a good point there. And the Scout is a monster, so it will exaggerate stuff like that.

What do you think about using a track bar to control the flop?

I have run allpros on my old runner and my new one and love them. We put TG's on my pops yota and they work awesome. I have driven his quite a bit on the road and so has he with no problems, works just like a normal bushing on the road.
