I know there is a way to find out what my gearing is by putting my jeep on jack stands and turning the wheels and counting the rotation or something, does someone know the exact procedure?

Number of turns the drive shaft makes to turn the tire 1 revolution. So if the driveshaft turns 3 and 3/4 times to turn the tire once it is 3.73:1. 3 and 1/2 times 3.55:1 and so on.

Get a buddy make a mark on the tire and a mark on the drive shaft pull forward until the tire makes a full rotation and count the number of times the drive shaft turned.

If you need to do it by yourself and have an open differential jack up one side and spin the tire 2 rotations (because only one side is turning) and count the number of turns the drive shaft makes.
