Very nice Marc! I like the silver, is it a factory color?
I'm not sure exactly what color code it is. Not factory Jeep that I know of, but maybe? I bought the paint system for $70. It's a 'fleet' color available from MountainWest. If I wanted a factory mixed color it was about $200+ to move up to Centari or other brand paints.
So I've got $70 in paint, a RUSH job prepping (1 day--There's still a few dents and chips I let go, but for what it's going to get used for, it'll be fine) about $50 in masking materials, $20 in sandpaper, $10 in sealer, $20 in a tack rag and wax & grease remover.
$150 in supplies and 2 FULL days work. My paint booth fell through at the last minute, so I was 'that guy' and quickly painted it in my garage (not exactly the cleanest, but the paint is better than expected dirt wise). That did save me $125, though. However, I'll be finding overspray on everything I own for the next few years despite all the visqueen I used up to cover it.
Do you think you could paint one for me, for say oh 200.00$ or less?
Just kidding it looks good, why did you leave the panels behind the fenders gray?
They're white. I'll be making some tube fenders. Color to be determined.
See above on the $200. I don't know that this could be done any cheaper. It's by FAR the cheapest work I've ever done. The paint is WAY hard to gloss and has lost a little luster since yesterday. I might try to buff it a little just to see if it'll help it last. The guys wanting $200 paint jobs can kiss my @ss.
That's a LOT of work for $25 per day.
