last time i was up american fork canyon i followed a road that went from the mines below mineral basin and up up up and higher up the mountain above the mines, eventually we got aboout 5 miles and found an over look, road still goes on higher but i was concerned about my gas level so i headed down and out. well that night i got curious in what road that was and where it went. well i found out that the road i was on was called NF-70195 and from what i can see from google earth it goes from af to alta. i know that from mountain biking up at alta all summer long that there is a road that goes up along side one of the ski runs that goes way up the mountain and probably connects to this trail iam curious if it does go up and over and drop into alta. can anyone confirm this? i think it would be a cool mini-expedition to go on before American fork trails close for the winter.

thanks in advanced, chris

By your description and numbering I'm assuming your talking about Miller Hill (Route# 195). Did you run into a small grave site surrounded by a small picket fence? The entire trail is just about 4 miles so if you drove 5 miles and were not at the top I'm not sure we are talking about the same trail?

There are no OHV routes that go from AFC to Alta, there is a road from Mineral Basin to Snowbirds property but from the gate in Mineral Basin & north its private property and closed to public use.
