what to do?

fill it with grease then wrap it with a full roll of duct tape ...didn't see that as an option for the poll :)

ok dude, I'll bite. If your U joint is about to go is it not a "no brainer" to replace the the faulty part rather than wait until you hit the trail and break it? Or, is it not a problem with you to be doing 70 down the freeway and drop a driveline? Posting such an obvious thread will get you nothing but torture, read the above responses.

I'm sorry if you really don't know, maybe you should just sell your jeep and save us all.
