What the hell was that?

I am sitting here at home working and heard what sounded like a VERY large and low flying jet. I could hear the engine spooling up and down. I couldnt see it because the clouds are too low but it sounded as if it was going to land in my front yard. My dog is going crazy running around the house growling.

Anyone else hear or see it? I live in Kaysville.

Why do you think I noted the time, we had a petition circulating by 5:45, a call to the governors east side estate by 6:00 and Hill had called off the perp by 6:15, back to serene silence.

East side elitists can appreciate the noise of our armed forces, no qualms there. As I recall the original argument had more to do with the flight line home owners arguing that east-siders should have to share more of the burden of noise to which I disagreed. It would be like moving into the flight line of Hill and complaining that they should circle over Wyoming to get to UTTR

We have several operations going on this Month using the UTTR test ranges. There is a fleet of F22's, F18's, F15's and the norm F16's. Most likey the noise was an air refueler.n Not aware of any B2's flying.

There was a B-17 flying around this past weekend. I can't remember the specifics of the organization but I believe they give rides as a way of keeping the aircraft operational.

My son is in the Rangers program at his high school in Layton (northridge), and got the opportunity to take a ride in a refueler a few weeks back. KC10?? He now knows what he wants to do in the AF.

more then likely it was a c-17 coming inbound... I have not seen a c5 at hill forever... but someone told me they are there all the time... I personally think he is seeing the C-17 and thinking its a c5...

The refuelers are always doing touch and goes right around dusk... keep their skills up... there usually is 2-3 that just circle around landing and then taking off....

That flew over the baseball game that I was at in Lehi right around 2-3pm Saturday; headed south.

I've seen them do that out at the Wendover landing strip over and over... and over.. It's cool to watch.
