first car was a 73 chrysler newport. with a 20 gal. tank that i had no problem filling up every 2-3 days.

I made $2.65 per hour slapping sandwiches for a living.
When I was in high school we would put in $2.00 in gas a drive around all day.
67 Ford Falcon, with air shocks in the rear maxed out.:D:D

Same with me except I don't remember what we drove in Olympus's drivers ed in 71. Pay was about $1.25. My first car to drive was a 68 Camaro and an old 59 Chev 4x4 we got from the Forest service.

Drivers ed @ Spanish Fork High in a mustard-ish colored K-car :D (instructor had a cold, dosed up on meds before we went driving, and slept for a good portion of the trip. :rofl:)
first vehicle was a 66 ford Bronco with a 302 swapped into it. :cool:

hmmm I thought this thread was going to be about a team of mules.

I never had mules but I did win a donkey at a carnival once, but my dad said I couldn't keep it unless I could afford to feed it :(

Second car was a '85 Jeep Cherokee Chief with a POS 2.8 v-6, the reason why I can't bring myself to buy a Jeep to this day.

Bob, how old are you? Gas was 35cents a gallon when I started to drive. :D Screw the haters of us old folks. They're gonna be old like us some day.;)
By the way- First car was a nice 64 impala SS 327 four speed, big back seat.:eek::rofl::rofl:

Minimum wage was $3.65, and I was managing (ha!!!) the local movie theater/video store, and entering skateboarding contests every weekend.
Driving lessons consisted of illegally tearing around the hills in borrowed cars. First driving was with my older g/f in her mom's '98 Cutlass Sierra.
First car was a 1981 AMC Concord wagon, and damnit if I find another one it's getting a 4.6 stroker with a turbo and some Global West suspension bits. :D

I got my license in 91 and remember paying .89 a gallon I was driving around a 1975 jeep Cherokee Wagoneer 2 door and still thought I was getting killed on gas I could not even imagine being in high school now trying to afford gas.
