Mine comes off in April every year. Goes back on in October every year.

Pretty much this^^^^.

Sometimes before EJS, sometimes after, but typically before May. It's a celebration but also a process. Clean and dry top, no dust, fold it up with a flannel sheet protecting the windows.

It's a gloomy day in Oct when it goes back on.
