I am a pretty big fan of the "Team Fred" gravity bleed when I am alone... Takes time, but works well.

I think the cheesy kit is $8 from AutoZone, but I have had mine for years...

I prefer the Sir Isaac Newton method as well. ;)

I'm having issue with that one on the YJ we are trying to get done. Is there a "Team Fred" write up somewhere?

funny you say that, I just picked one of those up today at lunch. Haven't had time to use it, but I like the design a lot better than the hand pump ones.

If you have ever worked with Carl, it might make more sense. But for the brake lines, NOT MASTER cylinder, it works well.

Carl will start at the farthest tire from the master cylinder, hook up a hose to the bleeder, crack the bleeder, enjoy a beverage while making sure the master cylinder doesn't go dry, let gravity push the air out of the line, after the beverage, 10-15 min, repeat on next tire that is now farthest from the MC. Continue until all brakes are bled.

I actually do this on my tow rig on a regular basis to flush out the brake fluid in the calipers that gets hot while towing.

Note: if you haven't bench bled the MC none this matters. I have the stuff to bench bleed the MC if you need help or want to borrow it. :D

Yup, this is the procedure. I myself prefer the 8 beer method though (I do all corners twice). :D

Not sure on the fancy ones. I have the $40 Vatozone special and I've probably put over a million pumps on it so far lol :D

Having seen the light I rate the vacuum bleeders in my "can't live without" items right below toilet paper ;)

I just used my HF vacuum pump for the first time today, and I'm going to have to agree 100% with that statement. I should have bought one of these a LONG time ago.
