Where to get Christmas Tree?

So my wife wants to start up my old family tradition of actually going into the mountains to search for a Christmas tree. I know it will cost more because of the cost of fuel but if it will make her happy that's what we are gonna do. Any tips on where I should go in Northern Utah would be greatly appreciated.

Fish lake national forest is where we've been going. You can pick up a tag in salina or richfield. Go prepared for snow.

good to know my wife really wants to go cut one down this year. Do you just stop by the land management office and ask for a tree tag?

I'd give em a call and see if they still have any. I know the Ephraim office is already sold out of tags.

Sinclair station on main street in Salina is where we always get them. Walmart in Richfield also has them, and is open on Sundays.

Check with Allterrain on here, I know he has a favorite spot.

He's picky though, I'll bet his latest tree is worth thousands..

if you want to drive to Evanston or Kamas you can get a tag at the ranger station and go up the mirror lake highway and get one there as well... if you go up to Evanston you can go to the bear river lodge and get the tag there and then a short 1/2 mile hike will get you into the area you can start looking for one at... The cost is $10 and way shorter then a trip to richfield...

But...you won't have the opportunity to get stuck in the snow, and that's most of the fun.

My family tradition is to pull it out of the box, and plug it in.

Then kick back and admire it while drinking a beer, while the wife fiddles with the balls and stuff..
