just finished a set of diy bl's from rocklogic, and i am very impressed by the quality. they are sweet!
for all 8 rings it was 255 bucks and with bolts will be an additional 60 bucks or so. as far as wheels, just buy some cheap steelies. i got 4 old chev ones for like 30 bucks from someone on here

I am looking for a 203, especially at those prices... :D

Where is a good place to look?

thinking about this DIY beadlocks, anyone interested in doing some welding?
let me know

I have gotten them all from this board. A 203 is pretty much worthless to most except for those that are looking to do a doubler. I just recently gave one away to onetuff76 in fact :D and I gave one to Shawn, who either turn around and sold it or gave it away...seriously they aren't hard to find. :D

As far as welding goes, if you pay for the refill on my bottle, I'll weld them up for ya.

#4 Buy a tube bender so that you and your neighbors can fab up some cool stuff. ;) Build some bumpers and sliders and sell them to pay off the bender and get #'s 1-3.

I was wondering when you would show up on here. :)

I thought you would say #4 save it for the Rubicon trip :D

How about a change in the formula?....

what are the pros and cons of 4 to 1 kit vs the doubler???
no drive line changes and....

Also when it comes to 4 to 1 kits, tera, low max, anyone else?

I would go lomax. I personaly like having 2 box over the single box with a4.7 only. You got more gear selections with the stacked boxes. I hated always having to stop on trail to shift in and out of low for long streches where go might go faster that 15 in 5th gear

Gear slection is way sweet. Running an auto you may not benefit as much with the doubler as you would if you had a stick. I have always ran the 4:1 Terra gears and have yet to have a problem with them. If drive line angles are an issue, 4:1 is the ticket.... but,,, that doubler is sure a sweet set up... :)

I have a 107" wheel base so I think I can get away with the length issue although it is a concern, but I am wondering if the 4 to 1 kit at 56 to 1 crawl ratio with my automatic would work or drive me nuts.(too low) oh yeah if it matters I have 40" tires

With the doubler I would have the option of 3 different lows #1 28 to 1, #2 36 to 1, and when #3 73 to 1. (rough numbers)

Does anyone run an auto at anyone these ratios? if so what tires size?

I like the 36 to 1, what I am currently running, but there are times when lower would be nice...

I have a 203/300 set up and I love it, but I have not caught on to the anorexic bit,my rig is a fat pig.
2.64*2*2.45*4.88=63:1 I have never felt like I needed deeper gears, alot of the time it is too deep, luckily I have lots o choices.

Personally I like having 2 transfer cases, it makes it nice to be able to choose between them instead of being stuck in low-low all the time.

I've got the CO2 tank, so forget the beadlocks for now and go with the doubler. (You'll just have to make sure and take me along on the wheelin' trips :D

I am at about 30 to 1 now with my 35's and could stand to be a bit lower. I have looked into some of the options you are talking about and I really like the option of having multiple choices in gearing. The problem with a Bronco Dana 20 is the output shaft is weak, by the time I upgraded the output shaft and put a doubler in, I would be about the same $ as an Atlas and still have the old steel case and D20 gears. My choice will likely be an Atlas (way down the road) but where you have a stout tcase to start with I would lean heavily to a doubler. My ford auto is nice to be able to start out in 2nd gear, makes up for some tcase inflexibility.

You guys aren't making this easy... ;)

right now I am thinking that I need to get some maintainance issues taken care of, rock sliders (some of you saw the mess in price) and maybe some DIY beadlocks. :D

Then maybe someone will buy my D44 and we can work on the doubler vs 4 to 1 kit debate. :greg:

What is your wheel base and how long did 203/300 set up end up?

also with your wheel base how much lift are you running? and if you know what is your driveline angle at? any problems with binding?

thanks for your imput everyone>>> :hickey: :greg:
