I used to like Haynes a lot better because they had way better manuals and a lot more specific information, but the newer ones have been sucking pretty bad.
I would vote instead for a factory manual... I have a Dodge factory manual for '98, and it is absolutely OUTSTANDING.. but a little pricey for the non-enthusiast...
Yep, definitely go for the factory service manual. And/or a subscription to the Turbo Diesel Register http://www.tdr1.com So far there hasn't been anything I couldn't find an answer for on my 04.5 cummins on the TDR.
I just got a FSM in CD version... don't like it as much as the hard copy so I printed it. They're harder to navigate. Once I get the dividers in the 3 ring binder it won't be as bad, but it's a lot less hassle to just buy the book.
I have both the 03 and 05 Dodge service manuals in PDF format but not the 04. I also have an old school Jeep service maual for the 2A, 3A, 3B, CJ-5, CJ-6, and DJ-3A. They are huge files. Contact me if they would help you out.
Ditto. Haynes and Chiltons are worthless. The FSM is the only way to go. I actually picked a couple CDROM versions for a couple Ford cars on ebay for $5. They are were actually created by Ford. They're a pain to use (poorly designed), but still better than Haynes and Chiltons.
