It's -11* here right now, and dropping. The Blazer is unhappy starting at these low temps, and it's going to get colder...

Who in SLC/Tooele installs block heaters??? an oil heater would be nice too... I'm sure my rings are pleased with subzero oil.

anyway if anyone knows a good honest shop that can do this for me, I'm all ears. :D

on a side note, for all you Cummins guys, there are factory pans with provisions for heating elements and/or blankets. I have part numbers if anyone needs them, PM me.

checker has dipsticks that are heaters that work pretty good... i had one when i lived in wyoming

and you can always get a heater that u put in line with your heater core it will keep the cooling system a little warmer as well

if installation is the problem get one of those magnetic block heaters. oil heaters and coolant heaters are very easy to setup as well. what motor does you blazer have?

I've got a heater on the Isuzu NPR that works wonders... it was about $40 IIRC, it goes in one of the heater hoses, it heats and pumps the water.... has a thermostat too so it's not running all the time. I got it at Carquest, I think they had to order it in.

Why? It doesn't even get cold enough in WY to be a problem for Cummins

I've had the best luck with the tank type heater hose models, like Meat refered to. They keep the block and heater core warm, so you have instant heat when you fire it up. They only take about 30 minutes to install, if you can get off the couch that long....:D

Hell, I'll even loan ya a nice warm garage.

Sweet! I'm there! Those sound like excellent little devices and just the ticket. I'll be in touch. ;)
