Who has the "best project"

Ok spence suggested and I agree.
THis year I will make a month in the calendar for the best project rig. I have no real idea what the criterea will be. It will be voted on by fellow RME members.
I know there are a few axle swap guys, I know greg is swaping out a supra for his 22r motor. There are buggified people. All kinds of poor wheelers that have there rig torn half way across the shop and have not been ably to wheel it for over 4 months (that is at least one criteria)
Why your rig is to be chosen I don't know. How I will display it I don't know.
If it runs now but didn't run/ drive a month ago does it still count?
I guess I will need some ideas on this thread and I will just let the RME crew tear it apart and deside what they want.

The one thing I will say is if you turned a rig into a buggie, I will not conciter it. I know that you have put alot of work and effort into it. But usually there are profesional shops and or sponcers involed to to great of an extent to be concitered a "home built rig"

Suka B and his anarchy offroad are a great example.

This year I am really going for rigs that look like something you can build in your garage for a reasonable price.
I don't care if your suspention is coilovers, or half your rig is a cage. I just want it to LOOK like what the DMV tag says it is. If it is a jeep, it looks jeep, toy(whatever make) it looks toy, ext.

So for now I guess we talk about your project, and I will start a picture thread in a week or so.

Feel free for ideas or criticism. This is fresh to me and I really value (almost) everyones opinion.

It's going to be awhile but I'm putting D44's under the sami and stretching the wheelbase. There will also be a set of XJ leafs in the rear. It will still resemble a Sami. I'm really into keeping my stuff looking like what I say it is.

for instance I could call this----> (o)(o) two donuts with the end bitten off but we all know it's not:D

see but you have a shop name to go with those nice things on your rig. I have the TWT hose of ghetto fab on my rig. Thats the difference.

NO really the difference REALLY is that you make your living doing it and I work a 9-5 and spend my paycheck for my fun.

hey, if you do my rig you'll have a project rig for the next coule years:rofl:

I like the idea, since it will show another side to the rockcrawling sport...most will agree that they enjoy building stuff as much as (or almost as much as) wheeling:p

I like to create and build. I hate to fix LOL
THis RME board is about real world wheelers. The calendar will reflect that.
We all built our stuff in one way or another right? We all have had our rig torn down even if it was to get gears and lockers put in. Or a cage done up, or to build/ install a bumper/slider ext. Well then thats what needs to be shown. WE WORK ON OUR RIGS

hehehe
Maybe the pics will be cleaner and the month's will be spelled right...At least I can right that crap off.......
No wonder his rig busts, he builds it with the same integrity as his calendars....
:D

I like the idea. but it would be pretty hard to determine who has done the hardest or indept project. For me welding bumpers and sliders and what not is a regular day to others a major project. Everyone skill llevel is different so showing the best project rig would be hard unless it looked the coolest (did that make any sense)
PS look in my sig for my current PITA project

Well, right now my Ramcharger is a rusty rag, but I just picked up a straight and clean black tub and front clip on Labor Day.

My winter project will be the body swap, it begins right after my October Moab trip. I'm cutting the fenders to clear 38's, and I plan to paint it Petty Blue with a "Macho" factory paint scheme. Then build some new bumpers, and redo some interior, wiring, and rear suspension.

we gotz brandon all whining (welcome back) and shawn bails out.

This hole idea is to get the people who are in the middle of a project some fun. I am not in charge of this idea. this is RME's deal. If you don't like my ideas, then fine. Shove em and get everyone to agree on some sort of a system to determine whos-who and whats-what.
SPENCE!!!! You sugested it, now get in here and figure some stuff out publically.
