who said anything about it needing to be done. Scrape the dog **** out from underneath of it and we will show that it has a wannabe 350v-8 in there and a subaru grill, vwalla cool pic.

So people are we wanting to do this or what? Doesn't seem to be kicking up much interest.

this is a cool idea.
my project is fun and it has taken almost a year.
92 xj
waggy d44's w/ 5.38's and spool/locker
4:1 t-case
9" lift with leaf swap up front by me
wheelbase extended
windows and doors taken off, and lots of cutting (still looks like xj)
rollcage by me coming soon (not soon enough)

only thing i haven't done so far is the gear setup... i got a deal at 4wp and i didn't want to mess with it anyway.
i am also going to have my drivelines built for me by woods and steering from j.r.

i don't think my xj is the coolest project though... someone who does an axle swap into an ifs rig or something of that sort should win.

so you are saying like a toy IFS swap should win? NO_WAY Maybe into a fullsize chebby or something... I really don't know how to do this.
I guess it would kinda be like june of last years calendar.
My rig with a cab/front clip and a rear axle getting towed home from the J-yard (thanx for the towbar brdpraey) then now.. lifted, locked, loaded, hacked, smashed, ext. Who cares about the rest.
Since when do we want to be trendy and do a feature rig thats "trendy" like a oneton suv or something.
Lets get the ball rolling people...who has a killer project...andy if you get some sheet steel on your rig would it look EB?

lets go with some criteria along the lines that, as of NOW this month, your project cannot be rolling down the road, It cannot be under its own power, OR it cannot be street legal at the moment due to some major mechanical work that needs to be done.

Post up pictures of your tube creations that you are personally building in YOUR own garage.

If you have a project on jackstands at this moment...post it!!

Bottom line, Start posting pictures of your unfinished project so we can see it, we will start at that ok!!

Ya know I haven't replied to this thread as I am from NC and not a local, but...................

I bought my sammi out of a junk yard for 100.00. I built my Sammi from the frame up. It took me about 20 months and was built on my very short off time between fighting a war in Afghanistan and one in Iraq. My wife put up with a frame and body in the front yard for 6 months once and 4 months another time. The labor was all done in my front yard by myself and a dedicated core of friends. Should I be considered? I have no idea. Here are a few details.

RRO Coill kit
DT Shocks
KAD D-shafts
RRO 6:1 T-Case
RRO Mega T-Case mount
Lockrite Lockers
RRO Over the Top Steering
RRO Rear Crawler Bumper w/ tire carrier
ShrockWorks Front Winch Bumper
Birfield Rings
Interior ABS Panels
33x14x15 BOGGERS
Willamette Beadlocks
RCI Seats
ShrockWorks Gas Tank skid
Rock4x Fabrication full roll cage, (cut op and shipped, welded at the house)
ShrockWorks Shrockbars (rock sliders)
5 Point Harness's
Extended brake lines
Extended shock towers
1.6 8valve with 1.3 intake and weber carb
Calmini 1.6 adapter plate
Popsicle Orange Paint Job!!!!

Whats a shizzle? Don't we talk white trash here?

Hey NC I don't see why not. I think you defenatly should be concitered. As far as entrants go, so far you sound like you have the best pics. I guess that would be alot of what it is about. the buildup. I know I have several of my junk in different stages of building. Why not. Those who are also trying to be concitered, how good of documentation do you have of the buildup?

I guess I'd build some sort of personal collage....

I am not white trash, I just speak many dialects of urban english.

I am voting for the multi picture layout of different stages of development. I like the idea.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the compliments. I have over 500 pics of the evolution. I am building a web site and it will be up with the entire project from start to finish. It is taking longer than I expected but doesn't everything? Thanks again!! :D

I think many of us here have had projects rigs for sometime now. It seems the rig is never done, their is always something to redo and make better on them. my rig has been a project now for three years and I'm still not finished, only wheeled it once since the cleanup and new body job, I do have 35mm photos of the first build up and only digital photos of the last build, but I did document the entire build very well. So your after vehicles that still carry a license plate only right?
