It's just a test signal for your tracker. They want you to get up and move so they can check to make sure everything is working ok. It happens to me all the time...:spork:

maybe someone should invent a smoke alarm that plays mp3s. put it to a nice calming classical song or whatever.

........AND, it is the one that is at the top of the vaulted ceiling so you can't reach in by simply standing on a chair! Happened to me and I had to go get the big ladder and climb up and pull the battery in the middle of the night.

Wow, that is really interesting. I just realized that this constantly happens to me. Why is it that when that one starts beeping and you change all of the batteries in the smoke detectors as a result, only one of them starts beeping in the middle of the night and not all of them?

If you think a smoke alarm is bad, you should try sleeping after the power goes out in a house with 4 Uninterruptible Power Supplies

mine all went off this morning for no apparent reason other than to wake me up at 06:30 this morning.

Stopped the second I walked into the living room to see WTH was going on.

if you changed the batteries when they recomend it you wouldnt have this problem. dont they suggest replaceing the batteries when you change your clocks for daylight savings.

Here's a question... If I have the newer smoke detectors that run off of the house power with a battery backup then why do the batteries seem to die every year?

the same reason a battery that is just sitting in a drawer goes dead.

and james, if you had changed them last time the time changed they wouldnt have died 1 week before the next time change.

and dont roll your eyes at me ya big meanie.-_-

But the one in the drawer is still good after a year. It's the one left over from the last time I got batteries for the smoke detector. -_-
