Took my usual trip to Wyoming looking for deer and other critters.
Snow started to stick while I was picking my daughter and her husband up in North Salt Lake, but we continued on (after talking with our friends in Wyoming about the weather there.) After only 120 miles or so of snowy roads, conditions improved shortly after exiting I-80 towards Kemmerer.
Wildlife for the day ended up with 2 moose, 3 wild horses, 10 eagles (more than normal), 1 covey of Sage Grouse (30 or so birds) and around 450 deer, give or take. No pronghorn. The pronghorn and deer both took a huge hit 2 winters ago, so far fewer deer and large bucks than previously. They have also had a relatively mild winter so far and deer are likely less concentrated.
But did see a few really nice bucks and of course a day exploring is always good.
