Winch cable safe?

I have a pretty much new winch cable but about half way down the cable it has a kink. It doesn't have any broken strands but not sure if it will snap if I use it. Would you leave it or get a new cable? Thanks

Its fine, it "might" be weaker there but it is not going to cause a failure because of that.

i would cut it up into extensions and use another cable

I agree with tracy. It wont break if you use it. I see cables all the time pinched liked that! Use it once it will go back reasonably strait!

I would run it, but be a little extra careful around it. Or buy new and make a couple extensions from the old like devel said.

i know if my cable ever does that on my wrecker i replace it, the cable has been damaged. but as bucking bronco said i treat every cable as if it were going to break
