Is There Any Way To Get Some Local Help With My Winch? I Was Trying To ReSpool It But When I Tried Spooling It In It Would Just Quit After A Little While. At First I Thought It Was Heating Up But It Wasn't Getting To Hot. After A While It Would Just Click And Do Nothing Else ThenAfter A While It Wouldn'T Even Let Me Pull The Cable Out. I Had To Actually Hook It To A Car To uN SpoOl Thanks.

the outside temp could cause the ground wire to make/break contact so yes it could make it work then not work.... check your wiring and was your vehicle running at the time? if not the battery could be almost dead and not supplying you enough power to run the winch.

Yes. The Jeep Was running. Something I Really Don't Get Is The Fact That Even When I Disengaged It, The Drum Wouldn't Spin Freely. I Had To Use A Car To Undo The Cable. All The Connections Looked Good And Tight. Hardly An Corrosion.

Im not an expert, but it sounds like the brake could be the culprit. Either that or a gear isnt meshing correctly.

Try to find a schematic of it and see if you can tell how it works, then you can tear it down and see if anything looks damaged.

That's Kinda What I Was Thinking Moab_Cj5. Wanted To See If Anyone Else Would Think The Same.

If Anyone Has Any Experience Taking Winches Apart, Please, Feel Free To Respond On Here. Thanks.

So I Looked Into It. I Can't Find A Schematic At All But I Figured Out That It Will Run If I Pound On The Main Body With The Handle Of A Hammer. While It Runs (Not Smoothly) I Noticed Metal Shaving Coming Out. Please Help.

When it quits working, does it still make noise like it's trying to work? Or does it completely stop. With it being able to work while you tap on it, it sounds like your brush's

When It Doesn't Work, It Just Does A "Click" The Drum Doesn't SPin Freely. With The Metal Shavings Coming Out IHave No Idea. I've Never Taken One Apart.
