looking for a place to go camp thats new, and be able to ride the atv's and not cook to death from the heat. I'm not tent camping so it needs to be accessable with the camper and a 16' carhauler.

wanted to go to murdock basin but still to wet up there.

so what you got?

Diamond Fork, spanish Fork canyon. We spent a lot of time up there when I was young. Fair amount of dirt rouds leading all over the place. Decent fishing back then too. I have not been up there in almost 20 years though....so it could be paved and condos by now.:D

Current Creek Res. lots of ATV riding, nice fishing just past Strawberry Res.
I was thinking up there. Like somewhere along Strawberry river road. We went up there a couple years ago and it is very nice.

thats mainly the stuff up by the lake it self isn't it?

the road I'm talking about is about half way between Daniel's summit and Strawberry lake. Heads to the north.

The first part of that road is closed to ATV's (the long stretch when you first turn on to the road) but when you get back up in to the trees then are good to ride where you want. All the roads up there are well marked on where you cant ride. It is mainly the roads that are by the high way. They don't want the dust from ATV's to go on the road.:-\

I snowmobile up in that area (Strawberry/Current Creek/ Tower Mountain/ Timberlake) the trails/roads are becoming more and more restricted to ATVers each year. For example, Lake Creek Canyon is completely closed to ATVs this year (that's center street in Heber up past Timber Lakes). I haven't been to Current Creek in years though....
The rational behind the restrictions is as always mis-use of the area

I've wanted to check out the areas west and south of Grantsville/Tooelle but haven't ever had a chance to do so. You been out there?

That is usually where I go camping out by south mountain or muskrat springs but there is no way you would be able to get the vehicals you are talking about where we go, and it is hot  although I belive there MIGHT be some areas in/around the North Willow and South Willow canyons.

IIRC a lot of the camping around Current Creek is now private....

What about up around Mill Hollow?

There is camping and fishing around Mill Hollow but the campground is closed because of snow (as of Saturday) and the roads around the lake are closed to ATVs. Strawberry and Current creek are good spots if you can fina a camp spot. The areas south and west of Grantsville (North and South Willow) are fun camping areas and have some ATV legal trails, and fishing at Grantsville Resevoir but there are limited camping spots for big rigs.

I was up there Sunday and it was nice, not much snow at all. I wish I would have taken the camper. Wet? I didn't think so.

Sounds like both of you have been out there. What's in the area? My wife wants nice camping facilities and I want some Jeep trails in the area. Anything out there? (PM me if you want :D)
