Working at Hill AFB this summer

New to RME, I have known about this site for a long time but was never local. Seems like I have wheeled in all of the states around Utah (Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico) but other than the occassional trip to Moab I haven't really spent much time in Utah. I am really looking forward to it!

I will be working up at Hill AFB for May - August and hope to get the chance to wheel with some of you. I have an '86 Toyota pickup, here are some photos from the recent Chile Challenge in Las Cruces. I also do freelance photography and writing for 4WD magazines, so hopefully I can document some trail rides and do some features on Utah vehicles. I mostly do Jeeps and diesel trucks, but I've worked with just about every magazine out there.

Are you going to be living on base?

The only thing that sucks about Davis County is its 1 1/2 hours to good trails in either direction. There is some mild stuff in Farmington and Bountifull. Pretty scenic tho!

It is an Xtra Cab on a short wheelbase frame with a bobbed bed. Lockers, dual cases, most of the normal Toyota stuff. There is more info on my website (although some of it is a little outdated)

Are you going to be living on base?

I don't think that I will be living on base. The company that I work for is doing a cleanup project on the base, but I will likely need to find a place to live off base.

I work here on base, there are many people that are involved with offroading that work here. Look forward to meeting you when you start your work here. There are some fun and scenic trails from Providence to Bountiful, and more aggresive toward Lehi. Defiantly check back in when you get here in May.
