There's some good tech on the interweb. If you're using the Jeep unit, it's likely a Sanden and will need oiling. The 'cool kids' use a York (I'll be a cool kid one of these days) as they don't have the oiling needs and put out more CFM (enough for air tools :D). I do know of at least one working Sanden and I don't think he built an oiling unit into his. I don't know if it still works or not and I don't know if it'll run air tools or not.

Kilby seems to be the master of this (www.kilby.com) and you could make an argument that is the way to go. You'll get reliable parts in kit form and you can bolt it in and go.

There's a LOT of tech on OBA on www.pirate4x4.com if you can find the posts from 2001-2003, you'll get some good tech instead all the cool kids telling you to search.

Basicly, you'll need some heat resistant hoses/fittings near the compressor, a pressure switch to switch the compressor off when you reach your regulated pressure, a gauge is kinda nice, some kind of tank (lots of creativite solutions out there) and your fittings.

I ran one for years out of my old ac compressor in my long lost scrambler. As long as you keep it oiled it works almost as well as any of the yorks... Plus if its there you dont have to fab up new mounts or buy another compressor
