Jeep fellas hi i am new in jeeps got a 97 manual, engine swapped to same one with less miles.

i have an issue when the car is on Neutral i can reve and cut off easily 6k RPM
But in gears 2 second or 3 tired and try to push the car, RPM at 4000 45000 will weaken cut and when i remove throttle it backfires a small amount .( poh poh)

might be related (if it’s fuel pump)but pump will allow every cutoff happen perfect without gears?

First starting daily might not turn on from the first start,
I need to start 2 sec following by a second one straight to fire (starter is new )
I made a service oils filter sparks gaskets ...
I know it might be loads of things from the Fuel tank to reach injectors any input will be amazing and save me loads of moneys thank you for reading .

Sounds like the fuel pump isn't able to supply enough volume or pressure under load. Could be the pump itself, or perhaps the fuel filter is clogged, not letting enough gas thru. I'd start with the filter and see what happens.

If that doesn't fix it, I'd look at the fuel pressure regulator next, then fuel pump last, as it will be the most difficult to replace.

I'm not sure where the fuel pressure regulator is on a TJ, but I think its on the fuel rail at the engine.

It seems kind of crazy that it would cut out at a precise rpm range like that due to the fuel pump but I'd follow Greg's direction anyways. Fuel pressure regulator should be right on top of the fuel rail.

I believe on a TJ the regulator is part of the sending unit in the tank. If you had a fuel pressure gauge you could mount it to the rail and watch the pressure as you rev it. When you rev it under a load it requires more fuel.

i think you're right, on the top of the fuel pump assy. That sucks.

I think Autozone, lends/borrows, fuel pressure gauges if needed...

(I get the vibe that this new cat isn't local, but we can help him anyways)

Leaking: it leaked everywhere a lot. I changed valve gasket cover seal/ oil pan gasket and aft shaft seal(2 pieces) it leaks slightly between trany and engine on driving not idle and should i go for transportation seal? Can’t find answers on YouTube

Don’t be mad guys and try to make me want to pursue my dream project. I loved TJ as child and always convinced it’s a second car and now i made it . Although i am a Toyota guy and like my FJ fully loaded but they do not complete or goes under same fun toy category I believe
my TJ has loads to fix and still it roars

So i live in dubai and dune bashing here is the sport
It’s all about speed and light weight TJ has only 2 seats half doors and a dashboard i think it’s 980 kilos max .
