Ya I saw there posters all over NAPA on 13th next to their store. I peeked inside one day and it is a great idea but I don't see them being open for very long. I thought it was cool that they had stuff to do it yourself tires but think they can be installed cheaper at walmart.

I also saw them on Fox morning news with Big Buddha...I agree with lewis, they won't be open long unless they have a big bank roll backing them.

So let me see if I understand this. I can pay them, to take my car there, work on it myself for hours on end until I realize that I've done more damage then repair, and THEN take it some where else so that I can pay them 3 times as much as would have had to in the first place to fix what I've done?

Wasn't there a jeep place that attempted this years ago?

If I remember right, they didn't last long at all

all military bases have them for the soldiers and they only charge like $3 an hour... it was great due to I needed the broad spectrum analyzer and they did it for me for free! they would not allow us to leave a vehicle in the there over night unless it was due to a part not being available and they would not allow lift or lowering kits to be installed...

They even had a paint booth with complete suits for you to get in with fresh flowing oxygen... it was all great!

but on the civilian world it aint going to happen for long...

Perhaps the main reason is the time factor? People are busy. A lot of people don't have the time the even drop their car off to be repaired. It'll be interesting to see if they survive.

Interesting concept... Not sure what I think about it. Being this cold out it might beat working in the driveway for some people or if you don't have the special tools you need... I wonder how much they charge  hmmm

I see many of the downfalls mentioned earlier, but lets say you are a classic car guy, like hanging out, bragging, changing oil and dont' have the shop space to do it. This may be the fit. I don't know how much it costs, but maybe its not so silly.

I could see burning a lot of time with other projects going on around me. I am easily distracted. lol

Awesome. Is it working or not though?

I'm half retarded, which may have something to do with me not understanding what your question is. :-\

I wonder how big of projects they'll let you get into. I assume you can engage in prjects that might take several days, weeks? Engine or tranny overhauls... I mean, that's what they'd want right?

What would worry me is leaving my vehicle there for several reasons.

I almost want to go stop by there just to see it.. See how busy they are, ask a few questions..
