so a few days ago I posted that I was tired of being sick. At the time, I was weary of a low-level cold that seemed to come and go, more irritating than anything else.
My good friends, who I work with, have been REALLY sick, but they tend to be sort of sickly, and I don't, so I paid it no mind. I expected some kind of minor flu from them.
OH NO, friends! They weaponized whatever was breeding in their bodies, and gave it to me. Thursday afternoon I started having a little trouble with deep breaths, I'd start hacking. Thursday night, I felt really crappy, headache, nausea (mild), achy. Woke up at 4am Friday morning, wide awake and feeling ok, little bit of a headache. No biggie, whew.
Later I go to the shop. By about 10am I am not feelign too snazzy. By noon it literally feels like every bone I've ever broken was broken again, at the same time. I almost cried, that really hurt. On top of that, my lower back cramped up and I couldn't really stand up. So I laid down, which felt ok, but I started getting really nauseous.
After struggling to get a half-hour job done for 4 hours, I decided that since I coulnd't really stand up I would go home. Wow, that was a FUN ride. Kind of loopy, but managed (I think) to stay centered. I did have to stop twice and puke, but since I hadn't eaten anything and just had water, no biggie.
Got home, fell into the door, and literally crawled to the bedroom. My wife was kind enough to undress me and wrap me in blankets. At about 9pm I woke up in soaked sheets and covered in sweat, but feeling so much better. Still nauseous. 10pm, felt ok but exhausted. So I went to sleep again. From 1:16am until 9am, I woke up about every 45minutes, from the massive headache I had. At 9 though, I felt better.
I will say that I have been ill in the past and it sucked. THIS though, takes the absolute cake as the SICKEST I HAVE EVER BEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. That bone pain was excruciating.
I know it is Dugway, practicing. We're downwind.
