I have a NP231 that was rebuilt by intermountain Transmissions a couple of years ago and has been sitting around waiting to be used.

It was rebuilt with a Slip Yoke Eliminator, a 6 gear planetary (from a NP240) and the heavier drive chain (according to another person it is a black one).

Ready to go.

$900.00 or trade for something else I might be interested in.

Thanks,

Ted...

I don't know Jeeps, will this fit an '01 Cherokee 6 cyl auto? If so, I might know a guy that wants it.

Fresh count on the input shaft is 23 splines.

With that in mind I do not think it will work directly, but my transmission guy says it would be just a change of the input shaft.

27 splines for automatic

29 splines for standard

23 splines for older

Ted...

It is the proper spline count for a newer Cherokee automatic. They are 23 spline. There is a chance that the length of the input shaft isn't correct, but I assure you the spline count is. Some early XJ/MJ and YJ applications had 21 spline inputs, but everything since '91 or so is 23 spline.

Unless they use them in the JKs, I don't think Jeep ever used 27 or 29 spline inputs. EDIT - JK's use 241 and 241OR cases. Not 231s.

If this was a 231 from a Dodge or a Chevy, it could certainly be the different spline counts, but the Jeep ones were all 21 or 23. I'm not out to prove anybody wrong, I'm just trying to help.

Moving it to the top...

Offers of anything of comparable value I might be interested in (weaponry, munitions etc...) are gladly accepted ...

Even offers that encompass difference of price would be entertained (within reason of course)

Thanks,

Ted...
