Brett (Mr b) and I made a pretty big loop over the past few days in the Toyota's and had a blast. We started from Cache Valley and headed towards Montpelier Idaho then up towards Star Valley WY were we found our trail head. The Grey's River Road can be traveled from as far South as Kemmer WY all the way up to Alpine WY but we met it in the middle and went towards the North end and then on up to Jackson :D

Arriving in Montpelier I found that I (once again because it happens a lot ) had zero clutch throw. Assuming it was just another master or slave cylinder I soon found it was neither... I wish I would have taken a picture because my transmission actuall separated from the engine block and thus my slave cylinder could not make contact :ugh: a few bolts later it was back in action and the clutch worked great!

Next we stocked up on tasty beverages and headed towards the trail. About 20 minutes into the dirt I blew a sidewall and it stopped me dead in my tracks. For starters I don't think I've ever gone 4 wheeling without a spare... ever--untill now :( Luckly Brett had one... and it was flat. Using my tiny bike pump we were able to fill the spare and it worked great for the rest of the trip.

Anyway the scenery was stunning in this area and there were very few people around.

Following the Grey's River Road we were surprized at how many trails lead off of the main road. Most were designated a ATV only but there were a few that are open to vehicles.

In the the last pic we were able to see the Tetons, but unfortunatly they did not show up on camera. Along the way Brett saw a huge bull moose :greg:

This one spot (its hard to see the trail, but trust me it's there) was pretty spooky as there was a huge cliff right below. Unfortunaly this trail stopped short due to a huge tree that had fallen in the road. We were thinking the the trail must have gone to a mine or something.

A big fork the road could have taken us to Pinedale or Big Piney, but we chose to continue on to Alpine.

We made camp about 40 miles into the trail. Dinner rocked and puppy found a little friend

It's incredible how big the Grey's river becomes. It starts of small enough to jump across then it turns HUGE the farther down the trail you get. I don't know the elevation of the peak, but it really made us feel small.

On up to Jackson I spotted this cool Tiger (this ones for you Greg :greg:) and we just walked around enjoying the fresh air and cool shops.

Thats as far North as we traveled. Due South we next headed towards Liberty (Home of Liberty Arms) then up to Tincup. Here we started a trail that actually dropped us out in Soda Springs and we had it all to ourselves. I couldn't believe how open this area was--it just went on for days and days.

The next portion was just outside of Soda Springs headed South. It was maked "high clearance 4x4 vehicles only" but unfortunatly what might have once been a somewhat difficult trail was recently groomed and now could be traveled by a Honda Civic :( Either way it was a lot of fun and there were a ton of side trails leading up to some really scenic areas.

Can't get enough of the Lodge Pole Pines!

We were now in the mountain directly above Niter Idaho. We ended up finding a ton of Ant Lions and had a lot of fun feeding them. Untill now I had never heard of these before--really cool thats for sure!

We made our last camp here near Sherman Peak.

Ending up in Immigration Canyon Idaho we were really hoping to head up Copenhagen basin on over to Paris Flats then down Cub River, but it turns out that the connecting part of that trail is not open to 4x4's. So rather than make a big loop around to Bear Lake and up to Paris we just decided to call it good and head home...

Other than having my transmission fall out and blowing a tire the Rot Box did awesome and the RTT was icing on the cake. Everything I've done on it has really paid off and there are only a few things I'd really change. It is not nearly as comfortable as Bretts sweet 3rd gen but I really can't complain :D
