so I'm on my way home and nearly there. Hanging out in Cheyenne, waiting for a guy to come pick up his 130#, 20x10 3pc Unimog rims. My gosh they're heavy rims. Anyway, checking the forecast for Rock Springs/Evanston area, and guess what?

25mph winds out of the west, with likely 50mph gusts. OH YES!! that's awesome, I'm driving straight into enormous headwinds.

Frickin' Wyoming.

It is ALWAYS blowing through that area...If you stop by a little town called Wamsutter, you will know the pain and anguish I have to endure when I get called to work up there. The wind never stops..EVER.

It is not so bad when you are eastbound because you pick up a couple MPGs but on the way home it totally eats the gas. I think I did 11mpg in my wrangler once...fantastic!!

Oh yuh. I lived in Green River for 3 years. That's pretty normal around there. I remember a 2 week period where it regularly got down to 40 below, and the high never reached 0 with the chill factor. Not a fun place to work outside in the winter.

If the wind were blowing the other direction that would be a valid statement...the fact that the wind blows in an easterly direction means that Utah blows and Wyoming Sucks!!

Yeah, I feel for you Spencurai, Wamsutter was f'ing COLD. I drafted a very kind and understanding Marten semi all the way to Evanston and got the best MPG of the whole return trip, at 9.4mpg... which sucks, but that's for a full loaded, enormous PIG of a truck LOL.... in 35mph headwinds. I was happy.

Drive from Evanston to SLC blew hard though, the lines on the road are nonexistent and it was blowing, wet snow and very hard to see anything. Oh well.
