It's a spa-like atmosphere at the Patterson/Heaney household tonight. Watching Iron Chef America, letting GINORMOUS grilled steaks slowly digest in our bellies...
No ornaments, no tree, no decorations, no lights...just quiet solitude.

Kids asleep. Almost all presents wrapped, and I helped... Watching "A Christmas Story."

Just sent the kids home, so my duties are done for another year.
The prime rib from earlier is processing nicely (damn, I'm a good cook).
Just packing things up now, heading to some hopefully warmer weather in So Cal in the mornin for a week or so, then new years in Vegas.

Just got home from my parents and the kids are going ape shit!
I think about 90% of our gifts are wrapped(thank you) So we are waiting it out for a few min to see when they crash.

Spent a nice Christmas Eve with my parents and some family friends. Tomorrow we head back over to their houses to open presents with my niece and nephews. There are truly few things funner than watching kids tear into presents

Spent last Saturday with the uncle, sisters, nieces and nephews and the nephews new twins at my dads.
Tomorrow me and Debbie will drink coffee and watch TV until Kristina comes over at 11am.
Little kids are fun but it's kinda nice when they hit 31 too.

Yup, I enjoyed my years when we would wake up early and open presents with the little ones. This year, the kids are all teens, and will all be here around noon. A quiet Christmas dinner with my parents, and then down to the cabin for the weekend. We will be snowboarding off our mountain and using the tractor as a charlift. I think I can dig it.

my mothers birthday is christmas eve so we always do the gift exchange with family then... but with her turning 76 this year this tradition might be coming to a close soon...
Now waiting for Sue to get home from work so we can open all our gifts! Looks like I have time to pull the jeep into the garage and do some quality bonding with it...
