Is the XJ and TJ suspension close enough to use interchangably? Could you possibly take a rubicon front suspension and throw it on an XJ?

I believe the parts are the exact same. I use TJ junk on my XJ all the time (steering stuff). I don't think you'd get any lift out of the Rubicon spring, though. I could be wrong and have been before.

What parts are you trying to use? the spring rates will be different. Im not sure about the contorl arms they might be the same length?

Not having firsthand knowledge of TJ's being my disclaimer, I would have to say no they are not close enough to be interchangeable they way you describe ie a direct swap. I would say yes it is possible (any thing is possible with the right resources) but no you would not be able to "throw it on", it would be much more work than that term implies I imagine.

i would listen to what mbryson has to say, he is the xj master  the springs and the controll arms are interchangable, the springs will have a stiffer spring rate and i have no idea on the length of the controll arms, i would do a search www.naxja.com for any other info you may need, im sure it has been discused there

I'd have to disagree. XJ, ZJ, and TJ stuff is rediculously similar if not exactly the same. WJ...........they changed some bracketry and other things, so they are a little different.

Yeah I concure :) , im sure the only things your are going to need to look at is control arm length and spring rate but ill bet you would be able to use all the steering parts and track bar or bracket parts

Second disclaimer, there were no other responses when I wrote my first, Mbryson and 95grand beat me to the punch.

I know all about mbrysons steering swaps, was going to mention that very thing but didn't know which specifics interested the thread starter as he was asking about a whole front end swap, and my post was based on thinking that spring rates and control arms are likely different on a TJ all of which the rest of you brought up. In retrospect it wouldn't be much more work so my imagination was off. Oh yeah, and I'm quite well aware mbryson is an XJ master and I am a benifactor of his advice.

Well, with that heavy duty aftermarket frontal cranium bumper the ole unibody just starts to go....

I was going to put it in a much less head swelling manner, but I've noticed you do get alot of that xj master stuff on this forum so I went with the flow!
