He, and his speech writers, think that the US invented the automobile.

From Jalopnik:
In tonight's mini-State of the Union, President Obama said the "nation that invented the automobile cannot walk away from it." One problem. We didn't. That would be Karl Benz, in Mannheim, Germany. Just sayin'...

Germany is our 55th state.. of the 57 that Obama had visited....

And let's not forget that Bush's imperialist policies are the reason Chavez was elected.. in 1998...

Or that the 1965 Selma marches are the reason he was even born.. in 1961. :D

Oh my me!!!!! How silly. That's almost as crazy as this:

"You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test." (Townsend, Tenn., Feb. 21, 2001) - George W. Bush

Or this:

"Tribal sovereignty means that; it's sovereign. I mean, you're a -- you've been given sovereignty, and you're viewed as a sovereign entity. And therefore the relationship between the federal government and tribes is one between sovereign entities." (Washington, D.C., Aug. 6, 2004) - George W. Bush

Or this:

"The same folks that are bombing innocent people in Iraq were the ones who attacked us in America on September the 11th." (Washington, D.C., July 12, 2007) - George W. Bush

Or this:

"I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family." (Greater Nashua, N.H., Chamber of Commerce, Jan. 27, 2000) - George W. Bush

Or this:

"I don't think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees." (on "Good Morning America," Sept. 1, 2005, six days after repeated warnings from experts about the scope of damage expected from Hurricane Katrina) - George W. Bush

Or this:

"This is an impressive crowd -- the haves and the have mores. Some people call you the elite -- I call you my base." (at the 2000 Al Smith dinner) - George W. Bush

Or this:

"See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda." (Greece, N.Y., May 24, 2005) - George W. Bush

...presidents say the darndest things!

oops! I almost forgot this:

"The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa." (State of the Union Address, Jan. 28, 2003, making a claim that administration officials knew at the time to be false) - George W. Bush

and these:

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." (Washington, D.C., Sept. 13, 2001) - George W. Bush

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." (Washington, D.C., March 13, 2002) - George W. Bush

and this:

"Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed." (speaking underneath a "Mission Accomplished" banner aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, May 1, 2003) - George W. Bush

and, of course, who could leave out this one...

"I'll be long gone before some smart person ever figures out what happened inside this Oval Office." (Washington, D.C., May 12, 2008) - George W. Bush

It's too bad that people as intelligent as the citizens of the United States can't elect a person for president who is perfect.....(sigh)...

I ran across that last week. I read through it a bit and stopped when I couldn't tell the difference between the sarcasm and the true believers...

I'm troubled that there is a section for reporting on people, traitors... I hope its a joke. But damn, if it isn't, we're all in trouble.

Anybody ever been here? screw it, I am putting this in my sig..

www.theobamaforums.com.... If that is a true cross section of his supporters, I am alot bit skeered.

just in case you thought I meant that only dubya and Obama ever said something less than from the mouth of god, here are some others for your reading pleasure:

"I had other priorities in the sixties than military service." (on his five draft deferments, April 5, 1989) - Dick Cheney

"I actually did vote for the $87 billion, before I voted against it." - John Kerry

"I spent several years in a North Vietnamese prison camp, in the dark, fed with scraps. Do you think I want to do that all over again as vice president of the United States?" - John McCain

"The last time I checked, the Constitution said, 'of the people, by the people and for the people.' That's what the Declaration of Independence says." - Bill Clinton (Note that the statement quoted was from the Gettysburg Address)

"There was never any doubt in our minds that men and women were equal, if not more so." (NY Times, 08/12/00) - Al Gore

Good thing none of us ever said anything dumb....huh?

No, they all say stupid things.

What's the definition of automobile really? I'm in no way defending Obama...

The earliest steam-powered automobile was finished as early as 1769 by French inventor Nicolas Cugnot (http://inventors.about.com/library/weekly/aacarssteama.htm)
It was a large three-wheeled vehicle that moved at the speed of a walk and was meant to haul cannon. Earlier cars had been driven by springs and compressed air. Windmill-powered vehicles were made before them. Leonardo da Vinci sketched self-powered vehicles, and even Homer wrote about them.

Karl Benz didn't exactly invent the first automobile.. He made the first mass produced automobile

"nation that invented the automobile..."

Barrack and his writers are still retarded

I wouldn't exactly call this an "automobile" ;)

that's exactly what it is

An automobile vehicle or mechanism; esp., a self-propelled vehicle suitable for use on a street or roadway. Automobiles are usually propelled by internal combustion engines (using volatile inflammable liquids, as gasoline or petrol, alcohol, naphtha, etc.), steam engines, or electric motors. The power of the driving motor varies from about 4 to 50 H. P. for ordinary vehicles, ranging from the run-about to the touring car, up to as high as 200 H. P. for specially built racing cars. Automobiles are also commonly, and generally in British usage, called motor cars.

Has much of the country forgotten that we have been kicking the worlds collective economic butts for years under a free market system? Socialism is not the answer, I felt like they basically ripped the constitution into shreds before the speech started and then laid out "what must happen" This truly sickens me.

This is my favorite forum for political discussions.

The free preview for the month on dish network was the Fox News Channel. To my dismay the free preview ended today. It was like having the SNL of news networks 24/7. One comedic skit after another, all day long. This morning they had a graph that showed democrat and republican reactions to the speech, and every time he mentioned values, decency, and morals the rupublican interest fell off of the charts. (They aren't serious right?) You need no more than to turn to any other network to appreciate the hilarity of it.

Of course, if you only get your news from one source, you could wind up on the other side of the isle too.

And yes, the way I presented the information in my comment about Fox News represented republicans in a negative manner. But I've been learning how to do that over the last month, with my free preview.
