YJ front axle stretch

I read on one of those POR threads that the xj springs are super supple so I'm sure I'm just way over-shocked in the rear. I'm going to try some stocky's and see how it rides with them. I'm also going to get some poly full length sheets and stick them in between the leafs and see if that helps at all.

FWIW, the stock waggy springs are about equal to a 2" YJ spring and the 44044s are about equal to a 4-4.5" YJ spring.

From what I have read, it seems like a lot of people recommend getting two sets of springs and cutting one up to add another main leaf for strength.

I think that I have figured out that I need some stock height ones to match the height of my Tuff Country 2" YJ ones that are on right now. Are there any out there that are stronger, rather than paying the $400 to Alcan? Or having to get two sets? I thought about the JCW ones, but I have also heard that they arent too strong.

I've heard both ways on the JCW springs. I'm not sure who to believe.

I have stock wagy's in the front minus one leave with no wheel hop. I have xj rears in the rear with one leaf added to level it and I definitely need a traction bar in the rear. I get a slight rear end high look. Put up some more pics of your jeep, I'd like to see how it turned out. How did you do the rear shackle mounts with the XJ springs?

How are those Waggys holding up in the front? I am most likely going to do those, but add another leaf to strengthen them. I am already at 101" and I think that by doing some stock Waggys I should be at 103" and about level. My rear is really soft too, so I am going to add anther main leaf to those as well, especailly since I broke my traction bar twice at safari. I think that was mainly due to the leafs settling a bit. I am going to re-design my traction bar though so it will also allow more flex. I have an idea of using heims at both ends, but I still have to figure some things out. I have been using a modified version of Skyjackers 5th link, but that isnt cutting it anymore.

For the rear shackle hangers, I got some YJ front hangers from M.O.R.E. and welded them off the back of my bumper, and then used some boomerang shackles too. I dont drag them off ledges as much as I thought I would, but that added wheelbase is great.

When I get the design figured out and installed

That may be a few weeks though as I first have to make some additional parking at the side of my house for my new trailer and then address the issue of my front ARB leaking air out of my diff breather. It is only air coming up though and not any oil so I am thinking that it is just the seals that need to be replaced. Locker still works, the compressor just constantly runs due to the leak.

I wonder why I never had these kind of problems with either of my ARB? The one was run at least 60K miles and the other at least 20K. I only had issues when I bent the axle housing.
