YJ fuel tank wires

Help me out guys. I don't want to have to drop my tank to figure this out.

I have three wires running to my tank.

Black/orange
Blue
Green/Black

Anyone know what's what? I know one is fuel pump power, one is sending unit reading and no idea what the third is???

I've looked up wiring diagrams and it appears that black/orange might be fuel pump power but the other colors don't correspond with anything. I'm a little baffled.

According to my diagram I should have a Tan/black wire for the sending unit and black/orange for pump power.


.....and now I'm even more confused. I've hooked up 12V + to all three wires and get nothing? I'm guessing one of these is a ground.

Correct, one will be a ground wire. Common to both the sending unit and the fuel pump. I can't help with which is which though...

Black with the orange trace is the ground wire, and the Blue wire up the middle is the sending wire for the fuel gauge.
