I found this really cool website a while back where I can zoom in on any area in the western us and get either a satelite image, a topographical map with the names of roads and places, or a hybridized version. Not only that, but the imagery is sometimes good enough to see trails and unmarked roads and follow them accross the map. This comes in handy when you want to find new trails, find out where ones you havent explored yet go etc. Ive been on other sites like it, but none had the options and versatility that this one has ( of the free sites anyway). Find anything from a trail on the edge of town to an area out in the desert youve been curiose about. Its worth checking out.

Note to the cautiose: you cant see 'no trespassing' signs from space obviosly.
