Yukon Grizzly Locker experience?

Anyone have experience with the Yukon Grizzly locker running on bigger tires? 37" or bigger... I understand that they're pretty much a copy of a Detroit locker, but a bit weaker and have been known to break with big tires and lots of power. I'm considering running them in my Willys build, front Dana 60 and rear Corporate 14 Bolt. I'm running 37" Krawlers but would like 39's in the future and a weak V6. ;)

Who has been running one of these with big tires and plenty of trail time? Any issues?

I never heard they were weaker, in fact I heard they became popular in front axles because when a ujoint would break with a Detroit it would take out the side gears in the locker... I think I read they claimed to solve that with the Grizzly but I could be wrong. It's been years since I looked into info on them.

Anyhow, I run a Grizzly in my rear D60U and have zero complaints so far.

I forgot that's what you were running! Good to know it's holding up to the 43's! I thought I had heard the same thing about the Grizzly compared to a Detroit and the side gears.

I read that the Grizzly was weaker in an online article. - https://www.fourwheeler.com/product...s-of-different-differentials-making-traction/

"Yukon Gear & Axle Grizzly Locker
The Yukon Gear & Axle (yukongear.com) Grizzly Locker is an automatic locking differential. It functions very much like a Detroit Locker, which it is essentially a copy of. However, it is generally considered to be weaker than the Detroit. We have seen some abusive tall-tire applications spit Grizzly Locker teeth. "

I ran one in my buggy Greg. Not an apples to apples comparison, but in my rockwell with 44's it still held up great and worked flawlessly.
