What about National Parks

Cuz I agree it's better than...say...Antelope Island State Park.
But maybe not cooler than...... say....Yellowstone National Park. :D
I go through Yellowstone twice a week. It's nice, but I still love Moab.

what you need is this Backcountry Aventures Utah book... has complete GPS coordinates, descriptions, pictures, maps and so on, of 175 trails (3,721 miles) of backcountry trails.. most can be done in stock SUV's....

i concur. this book kicks ass. has tons of trails, and they are all scenic. well worth the $25ish it cost. buy it online, you may find it cheaper.

I'll offer some specific ideas but these are more scenic than "good wheelin". There is the ghost town of Grafton just before you get to Zion NP, above that is Goosberry Mesa, it has a short, not too difficult, jeep trail on it but is a must visit if you are into Mountain Biking at all (do a google search). Closer to St George there is the Warner Valley dinosaur tracks and the Ft Pierce ruins.

again these are not difficult trails but interesting to explore

Hi guys, new to the site I will be going to Zion and Bryce in early May can anyone please direct me to some easy to moderate trails went I come up and visit?
Maribel..

I've always wanted to run the "Hole in the rock" road. Maybe this will be the year. It sounds easy to moderate, and you can hike down to the lake. However, I can't imagine that when visiting Zion's and Bryce that you would need alot of extra diversion. They have lot's to see.

Done that a couple of times, Graded dirt road most of the way wich is fun to cruise down being carefull of sharp turns that sneak up on you. Last few miles are slickrock, not difficult. Hiking down to take a swim is a must on a hot day but the boaters will think you are crazy and brag about how they get to swim after the hike. BTW this is nowhere near Zions, starts near Escelante.

I think he is probably talking about the trail from the east side of lake powell. (from halls crossing) I have done it 3 times. There isn't much "graded road"

Last time we were there we came up on a couple retards in a brand new hummer that had broked a CV joint, and had been there stranded overnight because they thought they were going to slide off into a sand wash and didn't dare move. These were two guys in their 60's-70's. One was wearing a polyester jump suit :)

Not a good place to go alone.

I considered that kirk86CJ but he mentioned "road" and "hiking" and easy/moderate which led me to believe he was talking about the road on the Northwest side with it's impressive hike down to the lake. I would love to do the Trail on the Halls Crossing side and know of some folks that are planning on going late april, just how moderate is it?

Back on topic, here is a link to pics of a recent excursion by some guys in a Wrangler closer to Zions, should give you some more ideas Wolff.
