Damn, that has some Japan farkle! Body lift!

Guessing it's actually a BJ73, def not a BJ70.

He local? Tell him we stock tons of BJ7x and 3B parts... Including some to de-farkle :D

They put clear lenses on it. He's going to take the body lift off.

He's in Montana

I'm a Land Rover expert. Not a Toyota expert. I'm not sure of the exact chassis numbers on Toyota I told him about you.

He's going to sell this one.

He bought a FJ80 Japanese version. Non locker version. But it has a turbo diesel 4.2, heater seats and factory winch.

He pays a dude over there a small fee to buy them for him. Then he imports them.

Cool. That front grill and light housings are completely non-OE, not just the lenses. Very popular mod in Japan as they make them look like later models. I saw you noted it's turbo so it's a BJ74. Add the wheels, fender flares on fender flares and and I think it qualifies as a typical Japanese farkle. Thankfully they are easy to reverse :D

One of mine started life like this

What's the name of his import business.

Kurt, he's doing it all on his own. He's been wanting to start a business for a long time. He's finally put together enough capital to buy a couple and start doing it. I'm just trying to give him guidance with insurance, LLC etc.

He's been a Yota guy since I sold him my old Yota back in 2004. He's had a couple of Taco's and Runners since. He sold his last Runner and put that and capital into buying two of these from Japan.

I'm not going to give out specifics on who he uses and how he's doing it, that wouldn't be good business practice. I don't give out my business workings to anyone, and I wouldn't want anyone to to give them out. So it's just between me and him how he's doing it. If he wants to tell someone later on, that's cool. I don't tell anyone how I got my consulting thing going, and I don't tell anyone my business plan. I don't want anyone to be able to copy what I do.

I'm not trying to be jerky at all, just know it's his thing and I don't want to spoil it for him. I'll definitely send him your way for parts. Your company is great, I got a great deal on that ARB bumper from you for my old Disco.

I've got my eye on a few Cruisers as well. But they just are not my thing. He really wants me to get one as well. I just like my eclectic old British stuff. My dream is to pick up a Defender 130 pickup crewcab, and put a nice cummins in it. That might be a few years down the road, as all my spare cash is building my new business right now.

Just to be clear I asked for his business name and if he is working with Back40 as MT is a pretty small Cruiser community so I assumed they had to know each other? I don't know Dave personally I've just sold parts to a handful of his customers over the past few years. I'm not in the least bit worried about how he does business, just hope it works for him. More Cruisers = more customers for us and more Cruiserheads in the community, win-win. Fwiw I deal with a half-dozen vehicle importers each week so it's not exactly a secret how they get do what they do... the secret is how they price, floor and market what they get and far be it for me to ask how any of them do that. Again, hope it works well for him!

Please do. We stock a tremendous amount of parts for JDM imports as we are a primary parts supplier for a couple of companies doing imports. For example that BJ74, we stock suspension, every filter, hose, seals, gaskets, axle kits, weather-stripping, we've even got the windshields for him on the shelf. By year-end of 2017 I hope to have double the amount of JDM parts inventory for 7x and 8x platforms.
