Budget winches, yea or nay? I have a several hundred dollar tracker I am putting together as inexpensive as possible. Doesn't weight much, clearly. But, a 13k winch on amazon is only just under $400 with synthetic rope. Would go on a $75 bumper I bought used, and modified to fit the tracker...

As for doing it right, I would probably only do the minimum to get it on the road, and drive it around. It looks like the frame might be slightly bent, too. I wouldn't be taking it back to 100%. It would not be a looker. :) It would be a runner, a desert play thing. Wife might drive it to work...
