Ls swap 04 LJ Fuel lines

Hello family,

Ready to pull the tub off, and ran into this canister on rear corner passenger side with fuel like lines coming from it going to the engine bay. Having hard time disconnecting and dont wanna break anything yet. Never seen this on my tj. Are all these lines needed if I don't need emission inspection?

Its the evap system. The 03-06 have it in that location. If you're not worried about emissions, then it can be deleted. Still recommend being careful with the lines as the connectors break easily, especially as the plastic gets older

yes, the connectors tabs are so dry they crack. what to block this with? or I can just leave the tube line that went to it

Its possible to delete the tank and retain the full system functionality by simply replacing the evap tank with a hose. I've not deleted the whole system though. There is likely some impact to the emission controls as well. Maybe someone else has experience with it.

but the egr, and evap were deleted on the 5.3 motor am using. :thinking:

The biggest advantage to leaving the charcoal tank is it will kill fumes coming from your fuel tank vent. Mine is still there with the lines hooked up but my ls has the evap disabled and no line ran to the fuel tank or charcoal canister for evap.

My ls motor only have 1 fuel line at the fuel rail. Do I still need a return line in this case? I see some returned line that require drilling the return plug on the fuel filter housing.
Will this Novak kit work?

My ls motor only have 1 fuel line at the fuel rail. Do I still need a return line in this case? I see some returned line that require drilling the return plug on the fuel filter housing.

I'm not sure. Maybe it was the 05 and 06 had return fuel systems. I simply connected the OEM fuel line to the ls fuel rail with AN fitting and braided hose.

After some reading, I think I will go with this set up, a regulator bypass from Novak with a return line integrated for $90, and a regulator/filter unit to the fuel rail.

With this regulator bypass unit, I don't need to drill into the fuel filter.

I don't think your Jeep has a return correct? If that is the case, just find a non return fuel rail for the LS. This pic shows my LS fuel rail only has one connection to the jeep, no return. This way you can just use the OEM fuel pump with the regulator in the pump. I don't remember what year the gen 3 LS when to return-less but it was after 04 which is what my motor is and I had to find the fuel rail at the junkyard.

My LS motor has only that one fuel line at the rail. I think replacing the jeep regular with the regulator bypass with return line, and regulator/filter will do the job. something like this

If you must have that kit I have one sitting on my shelf I’ll sell for $50 plus a flat rate box. Brand new, never used, but has been on the shelf in its bag for years.

My LJ is 04, I read that the fuel tank and pump setup was changed in 05

It was changed. If you had a return line from your original fuel rail you will need to install the corvette regulator with return. Hook a line from that return to the return line on your frame rail. Done.
