This shop got built a lot faster than you lead us to believe
It might feel that way but I’ve been trying to get the whole project going since right after we moved in- like Spring ‘22. Finding the right contractor for concrete and everything to follow was kinda rough.

I’ve been dreading the speaker install because I didn’t want to cut 7 holes above my head and deal with all the dust. My neighbor homie, the audiophile that talked me into speakers said he’d help me with it after church so we jumped on it. With the special blade for my oscillating tool it wasn’t bad, really.
He also was watching KSL for a decent receiver and picked one up for me last week while I was out of town.
Oh and he made me borrow his GIANT sub while he’s still working on his basement theater.
Then he kicked us out of the garage, closed the doors and tuned the sound with his fancy meter thing on a tripod in the middle of the shop. It was cute.

It sounds so good, I love it.

The speakers look great too!

The receiver location is temporary. I need to build a dedicated shelf for it.

The sub is massive. It was heavy as hell too.

My Amazon cheapie 60x24 work bench showed up. I’m not impressed with it but I think it’ll work decent.

Then my friend’s dad finally agreed to let me take his XJ off his hands. ‘93 Country, just like my old Jeep “Snowflake”. It had 133k and runs great other than the death wobble at 60+ when a bump comes into play. It was an amazing steal at $500 and definitely a buddy deal.

My 4 y/o daughter names all the bugs she catches “Pickles” and since this thing is green we quickly landed on that name and I love it. My 8 y/o hasn’t stopped smiling and spent pretty much the whole evening exploring the interior and climbing around in it. His enthusiasm is rad.

$500 I hate you.

Needs some Rubicon take off wheels/tires and a small lift. 😍

Why didn’t you hard wire your lights in?

I’m taking up working on nothing lately. I did charge the A/C in the “new” XJ last night so that’s cool, literally. I actually need to make sure ol’ Snowflake is in fighting shape since Ryan wants to go to WERock in Goldendale, WA in a short couple weeks 😎

It’s been miserably hot in the shop. It got to 103.3 today and I wanted nothing to do with it but my ceiling fan arrived. So I chilled in the house and relaxed until about 8 and then I ran to HD and bought one of these guys.

It’s a 12” fan that I can plug in or use one of my 20 Ryobi batteries to run and it hooks up to the hose for the misting function. It helped cool the shop down and make it manageable and I know I’ll use it plenty.
I was dicking around with the fam and doing pest control stuff until about 10:30 till I finally started on the fan.

Boom, done. I landed on a 84” unit because I didn’t want it to reach under the skylight and make spinny shadows on the floor. I hate that. It moves air pretty damn well and isn’t obnoxiously loud or wobbly. I am pleased.

Looks great! You reminded me that I have wiring waiting for a fan in my shop....but I'm still working on insulation and walls. You're much quicker than I, but motivating. I hope to get something done today, even with the heat
