It's ok, he's moved on to thinking he's a cowboy now.
Am I an old man now or are famous people all just 14 year old kids trying to be in the cool crowd at the moment? I feel like there used to be people with character and dedication to a thing. For example Layne Staley wrote heroin music and did/died from heroin. All the modern actors/musicians flip flop around like they are just a bunch of whores. Maybe it's always been this way and I'm just catching on.

Hey man, Post is just trying to have a good time. He saw Jelly Roll do some country songs and said, "I'm from Texas, I want to do some too." And he did. And thats okay.

I used to call this a sell out.

My favorite country is performed by former rodeo cowboys, truck drivers, and real ranchers. Boots a cowboy doesn't make. If we could keep rap out of it the world would be a lot better.

A lawyer makes his millions and decides it's time to go live a simpler life out in the country. He buys a ranch and gets into a disagreement with a neighbor about who owns this chicken that is often on his farm. The old farmer says he owns the chicken and the lawyer says he owns it. The old farmer says this is easy enough to solve if we do it the way we have always done it, we each get a turn kicking each other in the nuts and whoever wants to have the chicken wins. The farmer says I'll go first, steps back and gives a good kick. The lawyer falls to the ground and struggles for a bit. finally regains his composure. The lawyer says that was something I'm ready for my turn. The old farmer looks at him and then at the chicken and says "keep the chicken".

Look, I'm on record almost ad nauseum about how much I hate the Farm Emo. It's the lowest of low brow. I could have written a hit Nascar-nursery rhyme by age 6, but I'm no sell out. Look no further than two of the top grossing country acts who were formerly terrible rappists. Post Malone was a high selling but low talent rappist because his shitty auto-tuned product already appealed to the lowest common denominator. He just had to dumb down the bars a bit to move over to country. Jelly Roll was a high talent low selling rappist in the absolute worst genre of rap (hick-hop..it's like a more southern version of ICP). Spin up a couple formulaic country ballads (actually, Jelly Roll's "Save Me" is pretty out of line with typical country in that it's self written, authentic, and not obnoxious) and they're off to the bank without breaking a sweat.

I can at least understand the appeal of a lot of the older country that was original and performed by people who actually, you know, were from the country. Seems like very little of what has been produced in the last 30 years falls into that category. It's an absolute insult to the people that listen to it, who should absolutely be enraged at the caricature it's creating of their heritage , but instead they boot scoot their way down to RAC to pick up some by9's to blast it from the back of the Cummings while the artists live in cozy apartments in NYC.
