I bought a Curt receiver tube like this:
A trailer wire extension like this: (you can get them in several lengths)
Then some 1/8" steel for the wire, and 1/4" steel for the safety chain loopy thing. Drilled a hole for the pin into the truck, and with the shorter version that was it. When I extended it, I added the chains and turnbuckles since it's getting pretty long now.

Here's an idea. I don't know if the turnbuckles add any load rating or just limit lateral movement. I run a similar (more complicated) set up with mine. I'll get pictures later.
Wow that looks like a great setup! Those specs are impressiveWe took a little roadtrip South of Telluride to pick up a Outfitter Apex 6, 4 season camper today. It has all the important things; Heat & A/C, inside shower and toilet and a massive 45 gallon fresh water tank! Has LED lights, 2 solar panels & a1700 WATT invertor, too.
It weighs under 1600# dry and fits the F250 quite well.
Looking forward to some fun adventures with this thing! I need to hook up the trailer and see how it fits with the camper overhang out back. I think I'll need a small hitch extension.
