I literally can't read any of these stories. They make me lose sleep and cause me to be sick to my stomach. I get yelling at your kids or even smacking them when they might not have deserved it because of your mood, we are all human and make mistakes/lose our cool sometimes. I don't understand prolonged torture of a child. I would gladly harm these people and lose zero sleep over it.

The Ethan Stacy case in Ogden was the last one I read. I was sick for at least a couple weeks after that.

I look at my kids, and I can't even imagine allowing them to suffer like that.

DCFS dropped the ball on that case, but I have a friend that is a pretty high level case manager for DCFS and the horrors he's seen. They have the hardest time finding workers because they are so underfunded. I think they start case workers at $17 an hour still. Can't find case workers, can't find therapists, can't find foster homes...just not enough of anything. Just another example of a place where more funding is absolutely needed and never granted. Such a weird situation to simultaneously try to have more kids born into terrible situations, but also making sure that there is very little support for them once they are here....and people wonder what can lead so many into a life of crime, drugs, and chronic homelessness.

My wife is already trying to prep me for the day that we adopt a daughter, although it is also possible that this is just her way of getting me to compromise and let her buy a cat. At least the daughter won't pee on my pillow.

Apparent Trump assassination attempt... Golf course in Florida while Trump was on the course. Shooter exchanged fire with secret service.

From all that I have heard the only shots fired where by the secret service.

Sad situation for sure.

The pager bomb is brilliant. I'm amazed I haven't heard more about it. I think the news struggles to communicate what happened, they don't understand supply chain to intercept and plant the exlosive, they don't understand technology to make it go boom, and sometimes I wonder if they are sympathetic to the Hezbollah cause.

I mean…if Hezbollah is still using pagers, it feels like they brought this on themselves.

Ok I’m in the dark I this one. Give me the cliff notes
Cliff notes, Hezbollah found that Israel was using their cell phones to track them so they switched to pagers. Pagers were intercepted/tampered with by Israel and explosives put in pagers. A couple days ago everyone got a page that went boom. I believe yesterday they had something similar happen with walkie talkie/shortwave radios.

I understood it a little differently. Seems like I read that malware had infected these devices and caused them to purposefully overheat to the point of explosion. Much less hands-on evil, but same result.

I saw a lot of stuff saying the explosions were way too large for just the batteries in the devices to be the source. So it is heavily leaning towards small explosives being hidden in the devices.

REPORT: Israel apparently intercepted the pagers from Taiwan that detonated in the pockets of thousands of Hezbollah fighters before they reached Lebanon.

According to the New York Times, Israel tampered with the devices that Hezbollah ordered.

They reportedly placed two ounces of explosive material next to the battery in each pager.

"A switch was also embedded that could be triggered remotely to detonate the explosives," the Times reported.
