My Son's first words aside from "Mama" Dada", "Baba", were "Oh shit!".

My Daughters first words after the same first three, were, "Gawdamit".

Interestingly, both of those fourth words came out in response to dropping their "Baba". I will never forget, my Daughter, in the back seat of my '98 Dodge V10 Quad Cab. We were in a blizzard, coming up State street, stopped at the light on Main, waiting to head up towards the Capitol. My Mom and Dad were in the back seat with my Daughter in her car seat. We were at the red light, talking, so I was looking at the back seat and saw it all go down.

Summer had a little tray on the front of her car seat and had just days before learned how to balance her bottle on it and feed herself while driving. I saw her sucking on that bottle, lose her grip, reach to get it back, knock the bottle off the tray, against the back of the passenger front seat, and then drop to the floor. She sat there staring down at her baba and said "Gawdamit!!".

And... Logan's "Oh shit!" happened almost exactly the same way. Except we were at home and he was in one of those roller seat deals with a tray and stuff mounted on a wire he could slap around. He couldn't roll himself around in it yet but had also just barely learned how to balance his bottle on the tray and feed himself. Same deal, dropped his bottle on the floor and said "Oh shit!".

Cindy was kind of freaked out about it and was like, "where did he learn THAT?!". I calmy informed her that she was constantly saying that and he got it from her. She believed me and felt terrible.

I was lying.

Two years later. I can't remember now what I had done, but I let out an "Oh shit!" in precisely the enunciation and cadence Logan had been using... Cindy got great big eyes and a furious expression and pointed at me and shouted "It was YOU!!!". Busted...

So, when Summer let out her "Gawdammit" some years later, Cindy immediately, and I mean like INSTANTLY, pointed at me and yelled "That's from YOU!!".

I did not bother denying it.
