I just had to layoff a great HelpDesk II-III/Sys Admin I person. He's looking to move to Logan area in a few months as he gets married. If someone knows of something in Cache County or a work from home deal, let me know and I'll get you in touch with him.

Nothing illegal or anything big. Just bad work ethic practices.
This is just my take, but I'm paid by the hour and it's not enough to deal with drama. If it's bad enough to impact the bottom line then the company owner can pick their butt up out of their comfy office and come deal with it, and if it doesn't get their attention then it's definitely not bad enough for me to open my yapp over it.

Now if we're talking seriously wrong/illegal business, if we're talking legitimate safety issues, that's one thing. But correcting bad work ethics is not a part of my job description.

My side Job with Common Cents Casino Parties is hiring new dealers really aggressively!
Events based job that is mostly in the evening and especially on Fridays and Saturdays.
You'd be dealing casino games and Corporate events, Birthday Parties, Fundraisers, Etc.

We train you and it is very low pressure, no real money(Gambling is illegal), just playing games and being entertainment.

It's easy side money and super fun. Whether you want to do it, or you have any kids in Highschool or college that need extra cash we are in dire need for dealers as we have some massive events coming up this holiday season.

This is the recruitment Email they just sent out:

Itā€™s that time of year again! We are excited to announce the upcoming training sessions available for our new dealers. The details are as follows:

Training Dates and Times:
* Tuesday, September 3rd: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
* Thursday, September 5th: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
* Tuesday, September 10th: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
* Thursday, September 12th: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
* Monday, September 16th: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
* Wednesday, September 18th: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Location: 2670 West 14400 SouthBluffdale, UT 84065

After completing the training, new dealers will be ready to start dealing events right away! We can schedule them for events on the following dates:
* Monday, September 9th
* Friday, September 20th
* Thursday, September 26th
* Saturday, September 28th

Please note: New dealers will only be hired if they are available to work on December 6th, 7th, 13th, and 14th. Unfortunately, we are unable to hire anyone who cannot work these dates. We want to ensure work opportunities for those who can.

If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to reach out to Renee (801) 755-2904.

My wife lost her job this week. She had been with Rio Tinto for 24 years and they let her go. They reorganized the upper management and she drew the short straw. There are 5 general managers under the big boss. Now there are four. This is affecting me more than I thought it would. My bipolar is swinging quite low. I have an appointment with my shrink on Tuesday so there is at least that. Luckily my wife is still numb from the whole thing so she is okay for now.

My older daughter is probably going to move to Utah from New York next year and my other daughter lives here so we don't really want to move. I'm sure Rio Tinto has jobs in Australia she could move into but we already did that and don't want to again.

She is looking for upper management. She has had more to do with managing people than she did with the actual mining. She was over a team of around 200 people and had a budget of $600,000,000 so she can handle about anything.

If anyone hears of anything or knows anyone that may help please let me know.

Thanks!

I don't know much of anything about Rio Tinto, but I'll say that being layed off from a business where I worked for 26 years and was very respected was one of the most difficult things I have ever gone through. I'm in a much better place now than I every was before, but it was a difficult several months to figure everything out.

I'm glad you were able to find something that makes you better off. That's what I'm hoping for and praying for too. I'm glad Rio Tinto (Kennecott) at least is paying her through the end of the year and not making her work. So she has some time to see what's out there in the next few weeks without having to spend too much time worrying about money. I'm glad we have some savings too. It's selfish but I'm hoping I don't have to come out of retirement and start working again. I like my freedom but will start working again if needed.

Sorry to hear about your wifeā€™s job. Pretty sad a company couldnā€™t find another position for somebody that worked there that long.

Perhaps she could look for work with Clyde companies? They got a large range of ā€œminingā€ type operations all through Utah.

That would probably be the sensible thing to do. When I finished my last Mechanical Engineering project 13 years ago my wife asked me to stay home and take care of the laundry, dinner, dishes, cleaning the house, etc and she would work. She didn't have to twist my arm too hard. It seems to work for us and she likes not having to worry about any of the chores. When she finishes work I just focus on taking care of her needs. I have thought about taking a part time job at Ace Hardware or somewhere like that to help pay for my Jeep stuff but right now I do volunteer work doing vision screenings at schools and I'd probably have to stop doing that. We'll see how quickly she finds something.
