I'd love to try before I buy.

Wonder if it’s just stuck on the 13.It is auto darkening. It has an adjustment knob that goes from 9 - 13, but it doesn't seem to do anything. And a switch that has two positions, normal and fast. That one does change how fast it goes dark, but not how dark it goes.
I have a pack of replacement lenses and use them. Before it goes dark I can see fine through it. It just goes too dark, to where I really can't see my welds or where I'm putting them. And it's always been like that. I'm just finally tired enough of it to get something better.

I love my Viking 3350!This thing came today and it’s pretty slick. Also came with a free face shield and a $75 rebate. Not too shabby

Picked up one of these from Linde in Ogden this week. Really nice helmet!I mentioned it in the other thread, but I really like my Razor Weld rw8000x and the 7000 as well. I picked them up at the local welding shop. I was going to get something online, but I felt a lot more comfortable getting a lesser known brand from the local welding supply place rather than trusting Amazon reviews.

I’m sorry but all I see is Sir Bedevere from Monty pythonI mentioned that I'd be getting one of the nicer auto darkening pipeline style helmets previously. Finally got into it. In about $150 but I went with just a single shade auto darkening (10 because I'm using that 90% of the time) instead of a variable which would raise the price a bit.
Remember, with welding, style points are like racing stripes! Welds fuse better if you look cool doing it.
