I have there doubler in my 79 Wagoneer. It is well worth the money. I love the clock ability there set up has. Also the quality is top notch. There customer service is fantastic. I have nothing but great things to say about them.
No but the top is well triangulated. The cage does tie in at 6 different spots per side. I thought about running a b-pillar up from inside but thougt it was strong enough. Thoughts?
AMC 360, TH400 QT (parttime kit, see how long it lasts) dana 60 front with 35 spline outers, detroit and 5.13. rear has detroit, 5.13 gears and rear disks.
As far as tire life both tires are made of soft compound. The Iroks are softer in the bias ply form, don't know about the radials. I thought my SSR's wore pretty fast and my rig doesn't see much DD.
I ran the 37" SSR's on my waggy with 44's front and rear. I started snapping front axle shafts. I'm pretty sure my rig is lighter than yours. So, I would say 39.5's is asking for problems. I switched to one ton gear in order to run my Iroks (39.5).
Yep they all lived. I watched the whole thing go down and watched the rescue operation. Nothing like feeling helpless to stop something. I can still remember them all screaming as the rig went over the edge. That is one thing I wish I could forget.
