Mental health: it’s ok to talk.

I have suffered the insomnia a lot lately as well. Taking hours to fall asleep or waking up in the middle of the night and can't go to sleep due to all the thoughts about work, life, addition, rentals, etc. I found that I need to read or put the TV on. I will go down in the family room and...

    Political So now what

I agree. The budget needs to be balanced. The only way to do that is cut all spending....defense, entitlements, etc. However, even that won't help get us moving in the right direction. A simplified tax code that can not be as exploited as it is needs to be adopted. I think, if that...

    Political So now what

You have your POV, and much of what you said is correct. We live in a dumpster fire and Biden is contributing to it.....but to act like it all happened when he got into office is a bit of a disservice to much of the rest of your argument. The economy condition can not be put at the foot of...

    Political So now what

that is fine, and I'm not meaning to call you out specifically. However, you get your information from somewhere. Saying you don't trust the media is fine, but who do you trust? I can almost 100% promise it is very much an echo chamber to your ideas and ideaologies. But, I would be...

    Political So now what

Not that I'm taking a side...but I see this type of "excuse" a lot when people say things about conspiracy theories. They claim things are "proven" then, when something is brought up to question that proof, then there is a bigger conspiracy keeping the "truth" and can't be found when...

    Pike's home addition

So I ended up fixing the hose spigots.....I put in the Aquor hose bib on the driveway side but need to being it out a little more. On the other side I left the one the plumber put in, I just brought out the mounting to almost flush with the brick. This weekend I got to work on the fireplace...

Marc Bryson lazy "build" -JT Gladiator Rubicon

I saw that and looked. WTF did MSRP start hitting close to $70k on these? 😯 (Saw one through Jeep.com "locate my vehicle" with a 70, xxx MSRP) Even with the deals going on that puts the "sale price" around 50-60k....which is around what the 2022 MSRP was. I still want one for the same reason...

Mental health: it’s ok to talk.

Thanks for sharing. I am in a very similar with my handyman side business that I keep thinking about starting. I can't being myself to do it because I am scared people won't hire me and that thought scares me most. The other thought is that they will but I that I don't think high...

    Nate’s longterm tiny shop build

I had my 24x26 built by Equity Builders. They did a pretty good job overall. My garage, including the concrete and stem walls (not just slab like many others) was just under $40k in 2020. This included brick wainscot, 2)3'x4' windows, 18'9' garage door, but only 8' walls (on top of...

    Pike's home addition

Completely. My wife is sad to see me so upset. I just keep telling her, we hired a contractor so we didn't have to babysit the subs, except, now I find myself babysitting the contractor. I have learned, that if they are a contractor without a crew of their own, they are probably the worst...

    Pike's home addition

So the contractor decided to use full brick because the corners on the thin were 5+ weeks out  i don't recall if I posted, but a brick wanescotting has always been on the agenda. They didn't put the anchor bolts on the foundation to allow a brick ledge and the contractor told me "no...

    Today I Want This....

I am a big fan of the "muscle car era" and have always loved the most of the cars of the era, save a few I just can't get behind (looking at you '69 Camaro, but, 67-68's are great and used to be top of my list) However, I'm starting to find a WHOLE new appreciation for the bigger cars of the...

    Political So now what

now that this is out, the internet sleuths will make Kathy's life a living hell...and well deserved too (at least from the videos) She seems to be the aggressor here, however, the video doesn't show everything. I bet her life is already looking less rosy.

    Nate’s longterm tiny shop build

Found this pic when I was going through my photo album for some addition updates. This is the tee for the firepit. I had to use the rocks to hold the pipe down (which put it vertical) otherwise it wanted to fall over.

    Pike's home addition

Here is the outside with the partial siding on. I finally found some thin brick that will work for the lower wanecotting. We will likely paint all the brick in the future (possibly to match the garage brick) but for now, the ones I found at Interstate Brick should suffice. We also plan...

    Nate’s longterm tiny shop build

I ended up anywhere between 12"-18" depending on how bad the tree roots or rocks were. The riser definitely go lower. I have added close to 2" of new soil on too now that I have leveled the yard out. Sounds like you got it all figured. So worth turning on/off at any time and not smelling...

    Nate’s longterm tiny shop build

My wife's uncle(HVAC guy) told me 10-12". I zip tied the tracer wire to it. No permit or inspection but feel fine about it. Pressure test ended up being 5 days due to schedule and it held fine.

Not sure what is going on. If I try to edit the posts with the pics, they don't show in the edit so I can't even get rid of all the garbage "code" that shows. Go to the link in post 1 to see pics. Since I can't see what pics I've posted, I don't know where to go with the thread. A...

    Nate’s longterm tiny shop build

I ran my own line to my garage with a tee to my firepit. SUPER EASY. After I was done (the depth in my yard was the worst part...so many roots and rocks) I had my wife's uncle come do a pressure test on it. Kept pressure....so we hooked it up. Luckily, with the addition, they are...

    Tool Deals / Sales

And you all talking about it made me go buy one. I have a Cresent set or 2 and one of those can live in my trailer box while this one lives in my garage tool chest. Happy Birthday to me. My wife wasn't too happy with b-day and Xmas so close...but oh well.
